When I started working with Mary a few months ago, my 9 year old Terrier (Meredith) had completely shut down from anxiety. Following a traumatic health event our dog had become extremely fearful and withdrawn. She hid under our bed for 12 + hours during the day and wouldn’t come out for walks/potty breaks, or mealtime, and she was extremely fearful of most sounds (trucks beeping, fireworks, thunder, even rain). After one virtual session with Mary, we had a detailed plan going forward. Fast forward a few months and we now have a COMPLETELY new dog. Meredith now exudes confidence when walking around our apartment, lounges in the living room, comes and sits in my lap to watch tv (even though there are noises), and RUNS towards the door with enthusiasm when it’s time to go outside. I knew things had really changed when I started having neighbors comment on her confidence while waking her around our neighborhood. I truly feel like I have my dog back, and importantly, I feel like she trusts me. We still have a little work to do, but the progress we have made thus far has been remarkable.
Deciding to work with Mary has been, by far, one of the best decisions I have EVER made for myself and my dog. Mary is always responsive when I have questions or need help navigating aspects of our training. Importantly, Mary made training fun! Most of the tools I learned involved games and enriching activities that my dog loves. We wouldn’t be where we are today if it wasn’t for Mary. Mary is highly qualified, honest and approachable, and her feedback works! I recommend her wholeheartedly. My only regret is that I didn’t find her and make an appointment sooner.
