Before meeting Mary Huntsberry, I was feeling overwhelmed by all the books that were telling me the best way to raise my puppy. It reminded me of when I was a new mom! Just like then, everything I read was conflicting and totally convinced that it was the only way to go. Mary’s sense of animals, how to care for them and communicate with them, made intuitive sense to me. I decided to put away all my other books, learn from Mary, and just enjoy my puppy. It reminds me of something I read once in art department rules: “Find a place you trust and then try trusting it for awhile.”
Mary is both sensitive and extremely knowledgeable. Her special mix of compassion towards animals and pragmatism towards the people who love them is extremely supportive. I have taken two of Mary’s group classes for everyday obedience and puppies without issues. I have also had her come to my house for a consultation when we hit a bumpy spot. In both settings I found Mary to be a great listener, thoughtful, principled and fun to be around. I’ve always been (and still am) in to cats. They’re so easy! I am very grateful that Mary has helped me find the dog lover in me as well.
