Behavior Consults for Cats & Dogs

Mary can help you with a number of your pet's issues using positive training methods. Her scientific approach to training often leads to immediate change in behavior.

During a behavior consult, Mary will take a detailed history so that an accurate assessment can be made. She'll identify contributing factors and explain why your pet is exhibiting an unwanted behavior. Sessions result in a customized program, working knowledge of how to implement a training plan, and a written assessment sent to your veterinarian.

Common Issues

  • Aggression towards people or animals in public
  • Aggression towards family, visitors, or other pets
  • House training and litter box problems
  • Barking, destruction, and escape
  • Home alone & separation problems
  • Fears, phobias, and anxiety
  • Other problem behaviors

Frequently asked questions

Do you take pet insurance?

Since I'm a certified animal behaviorist, most pet insurance plans will reimburse you for a behavior consult. A vet referral is sometimes needed so it is best to check with your insurance provider first.

Are virtual consults effective?

Pets act differently when a stranger enters their home which can impede training, even when it's a behaviorist! Virtual consults are just as effective as in-person, especially when dealing with cats, dogs, or people who can't easily leave home. I've seen virtual clients all across the US, Europe, and Africa.
