Training Tidbit of the Week: Forget the Bowl!

Is your dog bored? Here’s an easy idea that will spice up her life. Take away her food bowl! Instead of leaving food down all the time or watching her inhale it in three seconds, measure the amount she needs for the day and put it in a baggy. When you’ve got a few minutes, skitter one piece of food at a time across the floor for her to chase OR use it to reward good behavior. Even better, teach her a new trick or to fetch. If you have no time to spare, put her food in a feeding toy. Depending on the toy, it’ll take her hours to hunt for her food.

Happy Training!
